Macerata: Meetings of the Arma with the school

A group of students from the “Enrico Fermi” Comprehensive Institute of Macerata visited the “INFELISI” Barracks on Via XX Settembre, home to the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Macerata. With a view to an ever greater and more profitable collaboration with the various Institutions and in particular with the organization of school education, this Provincial Command has welcomed the request made by the Primary School "E. Medi" of Macerata offering maximum availability for the organization of the event.

26 pupils from the 5th grade accompanied by 3 teachers were welcomed into the barracks, received by the Commander of the Macerata Company, by the Commander of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus, by the Commander of the Radiomobile Section and by a military motorcyclist. In the briefing room of the Provincial Command an illustrative film of the activities carried out by the Institution in Italy and abroad was shown, after that in the courtyard of the barracks, an exhibition of the main means used by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Nuclei for the Emergency Response service has been set up, as well as a small display of the various technical and special materials supplied.

The joy of the students was immense in being able to admire the "special" cars and motorcycles of the Carabinieri and the curiosity aroused by the exhibition of materials was also great. All the children rode on both the YAMAHA Tracer 900 and the Alfa Romeo Giulia motorbikes., having special equipment configured specifically for the needs of the Carabinieri. The students had a lot of fun turning on the blue flashing lights and sirens, activating the remote-controlled light panels for road signals, set up on the roofs of the cars, and talking on the radio with the operators of the Operations Centre.

Finally the visitors They were also able to see the photo-signalling equipment, the instrumentation for collecting saliva samples from which to extract DNA as well as the computer equipment used for territorial control, the breathalyser, the precursor “alcohol test”, the signal paddles, the material for vertical and horizontal signals used at checkpoints or in traffic control activities and road accident equipment.
