In Recanati, a 32-year-old man who was in a state of mental alteration, caused by the excessive intake of alcohol, climbed onto a retaining wall about 10 meters high and, leaning over the safety railing, began screaming and threatening to throw himself into the void.

The Commander of the Carabinieri Station of Recanati, alerted by the Operations Center, arrived quickly on the scene and started a dialogue with the man, trying to reassure him and make him desist from his self-harming intentions.

After a long mediation, Lieutenant Angelo Pardi managed to approach the individual, grab him and save him, just as he was about to throw himself into the void, with the help of a patrol from the Porto Recanati Carabinieri Station, which had arrived on site in the meantime.

The man was then rescued by a 118 crew and transported to the hospital in Civitanova Marche for treatment.
