San Severino Marche and Tolentino: scams against the elderly, Carabinieri meetings continue

The meetings of the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Macerata with the Older people for prevent scams to their detriment.

According to the guidelines of the General Command of the Carabinieri, meetings are periodically held to illustrate the Scam methods consumed more frequently.

The latest, in chronological order, are the meetings held by the Commander of the Carabinieri Station of Carabinieri di San Severino Marche, inside the Church of St. Joseph, in the presence of the priest Don Aldo Romagnoli, Vicar of the Bishop, and by the Commander of the Carabinieri Station of Tolentino, at the'Lucarelli' Comprehensive Institute, which was attended by approximately 100 elderly people.

On this occasion, many represented their extensive experience with people who claimed to be distant relatives or public officials in order to gain their trust and then ask for money.

The Carabinieri have illustrated in detail the main types of scam which see them as potential victims: from the most current and frequent one of the "fake nephew" who calls his grandmother asking for the delivery of money and valuables, pretending to have been involved in a road accident or other legal trouble, to mirror scam, fake distant relative which requires money, to fake policeman or lawyer.

Those present at the meeting were invited to contact 112 whenever you suspect you are dealing with a potential criminal.

Similar meetings will be held in the coming weeks by the Commanders of other Carabinieri Stations in the Province.
