Lucca: sexual assault on a bus passenger, identified and reported by the Carabinieri

The Carabinieri of the Fornaci di Barga Station have reported on December 3rd a 30enne, originally from Morocco and resident in Lucca, after having identified him as the author of acts of sexual violence reported by a young woman resident in Mediavalle.

The investigations were in fact triggered after the complaint of the victim who had said that persistent harassment suffered by the man while he was travelling on a public bus directed from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana to Lucca. The reprehensible acts would have consisted of repeated groping suffered by the woman at the hands of the man who came up after her and sat down beside her, pretending to be asleep he began to touch her insistently, persevering until one of the first stops in Lucca where the victim, previously immobilized by fear, had gotten off, anticipating the actual destination stop.

In order to identify the man indicated by the victim, the men of the Fornaci force were able to rely on the precise description received from the woman with the directions of the stop where the man had boarded the bus. From there, a meticulous and detailed search began until the description of the person matched the identity of a subject, later recognized by the victim and witnesses, then reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lucca.
