Lucca, Carabinieri spot a suspicious car and catch a couple in possession of narcotics
On the evening of Wednesday 24 April, in Lucca, the Carabinieri of the Ponte a Moriano and Pieve di Compito stations arrested a 44-year-old Moroccan, a loafer, with a criminal record, and a 21-year-old Italian woman, a loafer, with no criminal record, for the crime of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
At 21pm on 45 April, a crew from the Ponte a Moriano Station, while carrying out a territorial control service, while travelling along the Via Nazionale in Lucca, spotted a car stopped on the side of the road with a man and a woman on board.
Considering that the man was the recipient of a local and personal search decree, issued by the local Public Prosecutor's Office following an investigative activity at the Ponte a Moriano station, the soldiers of the Carabinieri decided to proceed with the control of the two and to carry out the aforementioned provision. Having arrived near the vehicle, the Carabinieri noticed between the man and the woman a quick passing of an object that the 21-year-old was hiding under her trousers, specifically in her underwear. At this point the soldiers, after having received help from their colleagues at the Pieve di Compito station, accompanied the couple to the local barracks, where the man immediately appeared to be cooperative, while the woman, after giving false personal details, in order to to avoid the search and flee, she pushed the Carabiniere in charge of the control who promptly blocked her.
The subsequent search revealed 21 grams of hashish, 18 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of a "cutting" substance and 6 euros, probably proceeds from drug dealing activities, in the person of the 40-year-old, while inside the vehicle owned by the 44-year-old, 69 grams of "cutting" substance were found. The two arrested, after the legal formalities, were accompanied to their respective homes under house arrest, awaiting the validation hearing which took place on Friday 26 April in the morning, during which the 21-year-old also had to answer for the crimes of false certification of personal identity and resisting a public official.
It is remembered that the suspects are to be considered presumed innocent until a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence of conviction at the end of the criminal proceedings.
