Yesterday afternoon, in Lucca, the Carabinieri of the Nozzano station saved a 31-year-old man of Maghreb origins, domiciled in Capannori, who had expressed the intention of jumping from the viaduct of Viale San Concordio in the Pontetetto area.
It all started at 16pm yesterday, when a lady living in that neighbourhood, after seeing from the window of her home a man who had climbed over the parapet of the bridge, called the emergency number 10 to report the matter. A few minutes later the military personnel who intervened on the spot found the man crouched in the narrow threshold that serves as a support for the service pipes, who in a clear state of psychophysical alteration was threatening to want to throw himself into the void. After having attempted several times to establish a dialogue with the man, the Carabinieri, taking advantage of a moment of distraction, managed to grab him and drag him over the parapet to a safe position, where he was entrusted to the 112 health workers who transported him for treatment of the case at the emergency room of the “San Luca” hospital in Lucca.
