Carabinieri intervene after a violent brawl in Fornaci di Barga: three arrests.
A serious episode of violence has shattered the tranquility of Fornaci di Barga, where a particularly bloody brawl between North African citizens required the immediate intervention of the Carabinieri, resulting in three arrests. The incident comes amid growing law enforcement attention to security and territorial control in the Garfagnana and Mediavalle del Serchio areas.
The alarm at the operations center and the rapid response of the Carabinieri
The intervention was triggered by a report to the operations center of the Carabinieri Company of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, which immediately activated available patrols. Within minutes, officers from the Fornaci di Barga Station, supported by colleagues from the Camporgiano Station and the Castelnuovo di Garfagnana Mobile Radio Unit, arrived on the scene, ensuring a rapid and effective response to a situation that immediately appeared extremely critical.
Eight people involved and the escape attempt
When law enforcement arrived, the scene unfolded before them was that of a violent clash between eight people, divided into two distinct groups, engaged in a particularly intense physical confrontation. Upon seeing the Carabinieri, the participants attempted to escape by fleeing. Two individuals were immediately apprehended on the scene, while a third was located shortly thereafter thanks to the search launched immediately after the incident. The other five individuals, who managed to escape in the confusion, will be reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office as soon as the identification procedures are completed.
Improper weapons and extreme violence
Of particular concern was the level of violence evident during the brawl. According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, improper weapons with high potential for injury were used during the fight, including broken bottles, iron bars, and even a lumberjack axe. These factors confirm the dangerous nature of the incident and the concrete risk to the safety of not only the participants but also any bystanders.
Two injured and differing prognoses
The brawl also had medical consequences. Two of the participants were injured and required medical treatment. One was given a five-day prognosis, while the other suffered more serious injuries and was given a fifteen-day prognosis. The injuries, while not serious, confirm the violence of the fight and the indiscriminate use of blunt objects.
Three arrests for aggravated brawl
Following initial investigations, the Carabinieri arrested three North African citizens, two Moroccans and one Egyptian, on charges of aggravated brawling. Those arrested have been handed over to the judicial authorities and will be tried in Lucca following a summary trial, demonstrating their commitment to providing a swift and effective response to incidents of violence that disrupt public order.
Strengthened controls and constant attention on the territory
The timely response was made possible by the increased patrol services implemented in the Garfagnana and Mediavalle del Serchio areas, particularly on weekends. This reinforcement, as the Carabinieri recall, has already yielded significant results: just a few weeks ago, similar operations led to the arrest of seven other people involved in a brawl in Borgo a Mozzano. This is a clear sign of the Carabinieri's ongoing commitment to preventing and repressing incidents of violence, protecting citizens' safety and upholding the rule of law.
