Carabinieri anti-drug raid in the province of Lucca: 3 arrests and 11 searches.

At first light this morning, October 2, 2025, the Carabinieri of the Lucca Company, assisted by colleagues from the Montecatini (PT) and Marcianise (CE) Companies, with the help of a helicopter from the Carabinieri Unit of Pisa, a canine unit from the Carabinieri Canine Unit of Florence and two canine units from the Local Police of Lucca, carried out eleven local search warrants against as many suspects for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing and trafficking of narcotic substances, issued by the local Public Prosecutor's Office.

During the operations, the military also carried out numerous checkpoints on the territory of the Lucca plain, constantly monitored during the activities by the helicopter of theCarabinieri Helicopter Unit of Pisa, which ensured an adequate security framework.

The search warrants arise from an investigative activity, conducted for over two years by the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Lucca Company, which had allowed in the past to identify a a "family-run" criminal association composed of three people and to seize a total of over 120 kg of hashish, with a value of over one million euros, the largest seizure ever carried out in the Lucca area.

The investigative insights allowed us to identify the network of buyers who, in turn, were involved in drug dealing on squares of Lucca and the PianaThe execution of the decrees allowed for the arrest 3 people, all residents of Altopascio:

• un 21enne found in possession of approximately 200 grams of hashish and approximately 100 grams of marijuana;
• un 23enne found in possession of approximately 100 grams of hashish, an electronic scale, packaging material and 750,00 euros likely to be the proceeds of drug dealing activities;
• un 24enne found in possession of approximately 120 grams of hashish, approximately 100 grams of marijuana, two 170 cm tall drying Cannabis Indica plants, a greenhouse for cultivation, and €100,00 likely to be the proceeds of drug dealing activities.

Furthermore, a person was reported at liberty to the Judicial Authority A 28-year-old Albanian man, resident in Altopascio, was charged with illegal possession of explosives and ammunition, having been found in possession of 1 kg of gunpowder and 25 illegally held cartridges.

They were finally reported to the Prefecture of Lucca four individuals for possession of narcotic substances for personal use.

Today's operation is part of a wider Carabinieri strategy planned in the province of Lucca, aimed at combating drug trafficking. These activities are carried out by the military at multiple levels, identifying users, small and medium-sized dealers, and even the so-called wholesalers, who import large quantities of narcotics from various supply channels.
