Vicenza: sport, English language and dance. PMore than 7.000 children chose to attend the summer recreational centers offered by the Municipality.

There are 7626 children, aged 3 to 16, who have chosen to attend the summer recreational centers proposed by the Municipality for seven weeks starting from July 39st. There are 25 supply points created by XNUMX local entities in collaboration with the administration, which provides spaces and facilities free of charge.

To take stock of the progress of the service is the education councilor Giovanni Selmo, who for the occasion went to the Trissino secondary school, where Pianeta Sport activities are underway. Also present was Christian Bassan, among the managers of the summer center.

«Summer recreational centers are confirmed as an essential service for many families – explains education councilor Giovanni Selmo -. It is important to offer spaces and opportunities to play and be together. Summer is a special season for boys and girls to experiment with new activities and discover passions, for example through Sports, to have fun, meet new friends and make progress in autonomy and relationships.

The number of users is in line with last year. The proposals have increased from 31 to 39, present in all the former districts with at least one delivery point. Not to forget the attention for the most fragile children: there are 51 children with disabilities present this year in the summer centers and 193 users reported by the social services. Of fundamental importance is the help of Ipab for the minors of Vicenza, which like every year supports a part of the fees of users in difficulty".

Sport, English language and even dance These are the summer camp activities of greatest interest to families. Among these, Pianeta Sport, at Trissino, involved 644 children divided over 7 weeks, from 5 to 16 years old, in numerous physical activities: football, volleyball, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, athletics, freestyle freesby, basketball, folk games, water games, fencing, handball, free play, chess, theatre workshops, table football, table tennis, tchuckball. Trips out of town to some amusement parks were also taken.

The novelties proposed this year are successful, such as the summer center in English created by the expert Barbara Meneguzzo with the association Attività sportive confederate - Comitato provinciale di Vicenza Aps-Ets. For two weeks, at the CNGEI scout base in Gogna, 33 children interacted with some teachers entirely in English.

It was also experimented with dance, with two new summer centers introduced into the municipal offer: Ritmo metropolitano, of the association of the same name, which proposed activities such as streetdance and aerial acrobatics; Summer dance, by Freedom to dance asd, focused on different dance styles with final performances for parents. Launched for a few weeks with a good response of 25 members, the two summer centers dedicated to dance will return next summer with a more structured proposal.

In the municipal summer centers, activities for children and teenagers take place from Monday to Friday, for half a day or a full day. Rates per week range from 65 to 95 euros, inclusive of various experiences including trips - at least one a week - to the swimming pool, to the city museums or to the mountains. All centers that request them are provided with snacks by Centrale del Latte.
