Vicenza: a record-breaking White Night, 100.000 people in the city, almost 10.000 in the museums.
A record-breaking White Night that animated the streets and squares of the center, with dozens of events, open shops, free museums, sports events, stages dedicated to young people, initiatives for children.
«After four years this great event has returned to fill the city – comments councilor Leone Zilio – and it was a winning bet: the events involved a total of 100.000 people, and precisely, according to the organizers, 30.000 on Friday, 60.000 on Saturday and 10.000 on Sunday. Numbers that speak for themselves, and testify to how positive the synergy is between the administration, Associazione Piazze Beriche, Confcommercio, but also between sports clubs, cultural institutions, museums, partners and sponsors, to truly involve everyone in what was a huge celebration for the city».
SHOPS AND PUBLIC ESTABLISHMENTS – According to Confcommercio Vicenza, "The Notte Bianca had the merit of revitalizing the historic center in a long weekend. There were certainly many people present and those who benefited from it, given the time slot and the locations of the events, were especially the public establishments, which have a management of the hours and personnel more compatible with events that last until late at night."
It was therefore an event judged positively by the operators of the historic center, while Confcommercio has already collected some suggestions for possible future editions that could further improve the impact of the event also on commercial activities.
CONCERTS – The three evenings dedicated to concerts were sold out, the true heart of the event with thousands of attendees. There were also several very young artists who took advantage of the free opening of the stages before the big concerts to promote their music: an opportunity, aimed at young people, to give space to their ideas during the Notte Bianca.
MUSEUMS AND CULTURE – Thousands of people (almost 10.000 in detail) took advantage of the extraordinary opening of museums and special rates.
The second Silent Book Club event at Parco Querini, on Saturday evening, attracted over 50 participants who gathered for an hour of silent reading at sunset.
SPORT – The “padel square” with the court in Piazza dei Signori has exceeded all expectations: thousands of people have had the opportunity to approach this sport for the first time, thanks to the organization of Golden Padel Center and FITP. «From school pupils to the young people of the Golden Padel Academy – adds Zilio – was an opportunity to introduce the public to this emerging discipline in the national sports scene. The heart of the event was the show by footballers Luca Marchegiani, Papu Gomez, Ciro Ferrara and Dario Marcolin, who together with Fabio Viviani competed in a padel match for the public. I would also like to highlight the special attention given to the young athletes of the national youth padel teams who performed in the square, and last but not least the players with disabilities, who demonstrate how padel is an inclusive sport and truly for everyone».
«In addition to beauty and prestige – says Zilio – to see our professional clubs present themselves in the heart of the city at the start of the competitive season, I would also like to highlight the success of “Camminando tra gli sports” at Parco Querini, a collateral event to the Notte Bianca which this year set a record number of visitors». Over 18.000 people and 70 sports clubs enlivened the day, organised by Sport.Vi and Coni as part of the Veneto Sports Festival, with gazebos, fields for trying out the various disciplines, food trucks, an inflatable area, and events for young athletes.
