The new testimonial of the Marche Region is Gianmarco Tamberi

Gianmarco Tamberi world and Olympic high jump champion and standard-bearer of the Italian delegation at the Paris Olympics is the new testimonial of the Marche Region. “Gimbo”, already protagonist of the regional social campaign “Take a trip to Le Marche” in the past two years, from now on it will be the face of future promotional initiatives that concern the Italian and European territory.

The agreement with the athlete was made official yesterday afternoon at the Palazzo Raffaello headquarters by the President of the Region with responsibility for Tourism Francesco Acquaroli, together with Marco Bruschini director of Atim and Massimiliano Polacco delegate of the Chamber of Commerce of the Marche which is a partner of the initiative.

“Being the testimonial of the Marche is a great honor - said Tamberi, giving himself with big smiles and kindness to the photographers' flashes and selfies -. I honestly couldn't wait: I have never hidden my happiness at being from the Marche, the pride I feel, the love for this land. I have always said that I will always want to live here in this land for my whole life because I adore it. In the Marche you can breathe a unique air. I repeat, maybe it's because I grew up here, but every time I return home I feel calm, serene, I like going to see the sea, I like going for walks in our hills and, especially when September and October come and I'm "off my diet", I can't wait to eat olives all'ascolana and vincisgrassi. Life is good here. My favorite place in the Marche? There are several. Perhaps the first that comes to mind is the Passetto in Ancona because it connects me to so many things: the serenity I spoke about before, all the training I did on those steps, the sweat I shed to reach my goals, the walks with Chiara. It's a place that contains so much of my life in a few square meters. For all these reasons I am happy and proud to represent the Marche region."

A contagious enthusiasm that of the Marche champion shared by the President of the Marche Region Francesco Acquaroli: “Having Gianmarco Tamberi as a testimonial is a great satisfaction for the entire Marche community - said -. This is the feeling that unites everyone in an extraordinary moment in which the standard-bearer of the Italian national team is represented by a man from the Marche. There is also the desire to do well for our region and give it the prominence it deserves, for its beauty, for its great capacity to produce, and also for the humility that unites all of us from the Marche. All the people from the Marche understand its value and I believe that Gianmarco understands it more than anyone else: he represents a community that has suffered so much in recent years, but has always known how to get back up. And speaking of falls and injuries Gimbo reassured everyone about his current condition: “Fortunately, things are much better - has explained -. They have been a bit complicated days as I communicated on social media but yesterday's ultrasound gave a positive result and they told me that I can start again 100% and therefore good as is. I have always worked a lot on myself, always trying to give 100% of what I can to every single training session. I think I've never prepared a race so well in my entire life, even though I've done it well in the past, putting my all into it. However, thinking that it could be my last Olympics, this pushed me to do that little bit more from every point of view, from diet to physiotherapy, to visualization, to training, to life outside of sport. I tried to add not a 1 nor a 2 but an extra 10% to improve everything I could, only time will tell if it was worth it. What I'm chasing right now is something truly unique, it will be very difficult to achieve because no one in history has ever achieved it, it's the only discipline in men's athletics that doesn't have a two-time winner. I feel the pressure, the fear, the anxiety of not being ready enough. But it's normal when you care a lot about something. If I don't have the pressure, I look for it."

Also present at the signing were the Chamber of Commerce of the Marche, represented by Massimiliano Polacco, delegate of the president Gino Sabatini, and Marco Bruschini, Director of Atim.

Now Italians and people from the Marche are attracted by abroad, we are other people's international tourists; we, on the other hand, must compensate by attracting foreign guests in an increasingly convincing way, with a cohesive and integrated promotion, Tamberi in this sense seems to us to be the right athlete to get the Marche talked about in the world.
