The Casa della Socialità opens in Vomero.

Naples. After 10 years of abandonment, the former electrical substation ANM in via Verrotti changes face and becomes home to a new youth center of the Municipality of Naples, called "Home of sociality".

The Councilor for Youth Policies and Work, Clare Marciani, with the President of the City Council Enza Amato, the councillors Fulvio Fucito, Luigi Musto and Maria Grazia Vitelli and the president of the V Municipality Clementina Cozzolino, handed over the keys to the representatives of the social promotion association “Matthew's House”, with the president Massimo Caramanna, who will take care of the setup and management of the structure.

The building is part of the Network of Youth Centers of the Municipality of Naples which includes the properties destined to become meeting spaces for the young generations. The APS “Matthew's House” was chosen following the publication of a public notice. In the agreement that the association formalized last September 29th with the The municipality of Naples, what will be carried out has been defined: cultural, recreational, workshop, training, orientation and psychological support activities, activities aimed at preventing cyberbullying and social media addictions. Furthermore, the opening of a space is planned equipped with PC stations with internet connection, the setting up of a study area in which young users will be supported by the Association's volunteers and the activation of a listening desk aimed at psychological support in the context of critical issues related to body shaming phenomenon, gender identity or education on affectivity and sexuality.

Activities related to the theme of digital transformation, with particular reference to the older generations, in order to reduce the training gap of the latter in digital skills.

The important thing is to ensure that these places are full of life, young people and activities as soon as possible. We hope that this can be a vital center for our young people."
