Teramo, the Municipality joins the e-bike sharing project: 70 electric bikes available to citizens and tourists
To promote sustainable mobility and encourage integration between means of transport, the Municipality joins the e-bike sharing project proposed by TUA. 70 electric bikes will be available throughout the territory, positioned in 18 different points of the city and via an app you can rent the bike from the nearest station where it is located.

Promote sustainable mobility and promote integration between public transport means, alleviating traffic in key points of the city and improving the quality of life of citizens.
An objective that the municipal administration intends to pursue also through membership, approved yesterday in the council, to the mobility sharing project in modality integrated into the Tpl, presented by Vaimoo Srl, a company specialized in bike sharing solutions, on the proposal of TUA, the only Abruzzo transport company.
The project , at no cost for the Municipality, in particular, it provides for the provision of 70 electric bikes for citizens, tourists and commuters which will be positioned in 18 stations scattered throughout the municipal territory is that, through the use of a specific smartphone application, they can be withdrawn from the nearest station and then be returned, at the end of use, in the same station or in a different location so as to facilitate integration with the different means of transport.
With the aim of guaranteeing the use of bikes by a diversified user base and at the same time limit any damage and theft, furthermore, the bikes will be equipped, among other things, of a non-removable saddle with notches indicating the height and of a GPS localization and data transmission module.
Regarding the cost of the service, the citizens they will be able to choose between various tariff plans made available by the company, which include a subscription for the unlocking of vehicles as well as a variable rate, linked to the duration of the rental of the electric bike.
"We have embraced this project with conviction - underlines Councilor Antonio Filipponi - which fits perfectly into the policy of promoting sustainable mobility that we as a Municipality have been pursuing for some time. To encourage it, it is essential to guarantee integration between means of public transport and promote those activities, such as bike sharing, which also have the added value of allowing citizens to embrace a more sustainable and also more economical lifestyle".
"Promoting active mobility has always been our priority - comments Mayor Gianguido D'Alberto - and with this project we continue on that path which has seen us intercept important funding for interventions such as the creation of a system of cycle paths connecting the university buildings and the main railway stations and for the ambitious "Magic Italy's Center" initiative, which brings together three regions of the seismic crater of Central Italy and which aims to create the largest trail network for e-bikes. Sustainability and intermodality are not just words, but represent a vision of the future of our city. And these projects, in their interconnection, develop that vision, which is already a concrete perspective".
