Traumatological activities will instead be managed, for some time to come, with the support of the Sanremo Emergency Department. The new presence of an emergency room in ASL 1 has the function of lightening the load on the other hospitals present in the Imperia area, thus reducing waiting times and increasing the timeliness of admissions".

The timetable for a complete start-up of the Bordighera hospital has been widely respected."

For the operations director of Saint Charles GVM Care & Research Hospital, Nicola Bergantino, it is about: “An important phase for the Bordighera hospital, which gives back to local citizens and users an increasingly complete management structure which, in the future, will offer further services and treatment paths”.

During his day in ASL 1, the Health Councilor, after having attended the management board of the health company, carried out an inspection of the Birth Center of the Borea hospital in Sanremo.

Almost three months after its opening, which took place on February 15th, 63 births have been carried out, including 4 cesarean sections and 2 elective deliveries: 40 males and 23 females were born.

“The presence of the Sanremo birth point – declares the Health Councilor – represents the answer to the needs of the far west and integrates with the other birth point in Imperia which in this phase, it should be remembered, also makes up for the temporary absence in the western Savona area of the birth point of the Santa Corona hospital in Pietra Ligure which is currently undergoing work”.

“This is a department of excellence – underlines the General Director of ASL 1 Maria Elena Galbusera – composed of two delivery rooms, one of which is demedicalized for low obstetric risk births, 'Casa del Parto' model, a familiar and homely environment. But not only that, emergency management is guaranteed with an active anesthesiological, gynecological and neonatological guard, in addition to the complete supply of electromedical equipment and blood components. an added value for the territory, the result of great teamwork carried out in synergy with the Liguria Region and the Gaslini Institute”.

“To offer the best care in safety even in the new birth centre – adds the Health Director of the Giannina Gaslini Institute Raffaele Spiazzi – a single path for the management of the physiological newborn was proposed and shared by Gaslini in all the birth centers involved in the Gaslini Diffuso project, including the Sanremo birth center, through the participation of the staff in continuous training meetings on the most critical of the birth event, a sharing that was further strengthened by the rotating presence of the Institute's Neonatal Pathology specialists in the new neonatal department".
