Sicily: sport, another 2 thousand vouchers for young people funded. 

Another 2.062 young Sicilians will be able to play sports with the support of the Sicilian Region.

The regional department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment has in fact completed the procedures for the provision of vouchers, admitting to funding the requests that were previously pending due to a lack of economic resources.. The bonuses paid out were already 14.247.

«With this measure – says the President of the Region, Renato Schifani – we have allowed thousands of young people to approach sport, distracting them in many cases from potentially dangerous distractions.

In fact, sports practice allows you to generate physical well-being but it is also a factor capable of creating sociality and community, of educating the youngest in healthy values. I am happy that there was the possibility of satisfying all the requests received".

«A measure strongly desired by the regional government – says councilor Elvira Amata – which, thanks to the increase in the financial allocation provided for in the recent budget maneuver, has allowed the use of sports vouchers to be extended to all applicants, thus encouraging maximum participation of young people in sports. This is confirmation of the constant and particular attention of the Schifani government towards a segment of strategic importance for its highly inclusive role".

The voucher is intended for young Sicilians aged 6 to 16 who engage in sports activities and are part of families with an ISEE of no more than 12 thousand euros per year. It can be used exclusively for registration and participation in sports activities of amateur associations and companies with registered offices in Sicily, affiliated with sports federations or bodies recognized by the Coni (Italian National Olympic Committee) or the Cip (Italian Paralympic Committee).
