Rome: Ex Campari Cultural Center of Montespaccato inaugurated

Present at the initiative were the Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, the Capitoline councilor Maurizio Veloccia and the President of the XIII Municipality Sabrina Giuseppetti.

Rome: the Ex Campari Cultural Center of Montespaccato has been inaugurated.

The new one has been inaugurated Cultural hub of the Montespaccato district, inside the renovated premises of the Ex Campari which had been waiting for years to be redeveloped and to emerge from the state of abandonment and neglect in which they found themselves.

The initiative was attended by the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, the City Councilor for Urban Planning, Maurizio Veloccia and the President of the XIII Municipio, Sabrina Giuseppetti.

This is an important public intervention thanks to an overall investment of over 600 thousand euros.

The works, which began in July 2022, were concluded at the end of March, creating a multifunctional building and meeting place serving the area.

Inside the structure there is now a room available to associations that request it for the creation of exhibitions, events and cultural initiatives, a study room and a space 450 m22 coworking with XNUMX workstations.

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed with the Institution of the Library System and Cultural Centers of Rome.

In particular, these new spaces will soon also serve as a neighborhood library pending the conclusion of the redevelopment works of the nearby Cornelia structure, which are financed with the Pnrr.

The area around the structure is also part of one of the projects “Urban regeneration program “15 Municipalities, 15 projects for the city in 15 minutes”: the technical and economic feasibility project has in fact been approved which will transform the parking area into a new public square for the neighbourhood.

“This is a very concrete example of our idea of ​​“15 minute city” explained Mayor Roberto Gualtieri. “We are in a space that has been abandoned for years, which was asking to be reborn and which now finally finds a meaning and a function, returning a precious meeting place to this neighborhood: a multifunctional room to enhance the associative fabric of the area and its initiatives, coworking areas , study room, books and initiatives. They are the services that bring citizens closer, young people who find opportunities to come together and grow, the city that rethinks and regenerates its spaces. I thank all those involved, councilors Catarci, Veloccia and Gotor and President Giuseppetti, for achieving this great result" concluded the mayor.

“It is an enormous satisfaction to be able to give back to the territory and citizens a symbolic place of Montespaccato to be used for cultural activities for young people and associations” declares the President of Municipality XIII Sabrina Giuseppetti. “I am also very pleased that this opening has led to this fruitful collaboration with the Library Institution, representing the importance that this Administration recognizes in public service and the integration of our energies for a common purpose” he concluded.
