The activity of the State Police continues in synergy with Autostrade per l'Italia, on the occasion of the summer exodus, to raise traveler awareness on the topic of road safety.
“The road is the thread that binds us to what we love”, this the message from the protagonists of the new campaign which from 15 July, will accompany millions of users traveling along the roads and highways of our country, reminding us how important it is to adopt correct and responsible driving behaviors.
Testimonial for summer 2024 besides Ambra Sabatini, paralympic champion world record holder and testimonial of Autostrade per l'Italia from 2022, too the radio presenter Laura Antonini and the singer-songwriter Daniele De Gregori.
The Ambassadors tell how much determination and responsibility are were essential elements in achieving their objectives and how, at the same time, it is essential to apply the same principles also to driving, reminding us that theincorrect use of the smartphone, speeding and failure to use seat belts, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs are among the main causes of accidents.
Cooperation between the State Police and the ASPI Group (Autostrade per l'Italia SpA) is consolidated daily along the entire motorway network, with particular pay attention during the increases in traffic flows that characterize the summer exodus through a coordinated activity of checks and promotion of road safety called “Let's travel together 2024 – State Police and ASPI for road safety”.
From July to 31 4 September 2024, the control activity of the Traffic Police will also see the use of mobile laboratories to check the psycho-physical conditions of drivers, directly on the road, and sanction those who drive under the influence of drugs.
The control activity will be accompanied by an awareness-raising activity and proximity to the Traffic Police on weekends in August, 4 Motorway service areas: A/14 – the Pioppa Ovest (Bologna); A/1 – Prenestina West (Rome); A/1 – Casilina East (Frosinone) – A/1 – Secchia Est (Modena ), which will be affected by a very high number of presences.
In particular, will be set up a point of contact for users in transit, In which the Coach and the Blue Camper of the State Police will be positioned, the motorbikes of the traffic police and the gazebos, with the presence of Autostrade per l'Italia SpA operators and paramedical staff. At the health stations, it will be possible to carry out a "health check-up" for quick checks on physical conditions (e.g. temperature, blood pressure, etc.).
Those who will be traveling are advised to:
- check the efficiency of the vehicle before departure;
- rationally arrange your luggage by balancing the weights, not overloading the car;
- identify a correct position for transporting animals, which does not interfere with driving;
- avoid large meals and alcohol;
- be rested before the trip and make frequent stops.
- keep constantly updated on traffic conditions.
During the trip, is essential:
– moderate your speed;
- keep the seat belts fastened, including the rear ones;
- use the appropriate "seats" for children;
- do not get distracted while driving (with the mobile phone, the radio, the cigarette, etc.);
- keep a safe distance;
- never use the emergency lane;
- on highways with three or more lanes, travel however in the first lane, on the right.
