During the meeting, the industrial reconversion project was illustrated to the Region of the Giammoro site, which includes activities related to the green energy transition. «It is essential to ensure continuity of support for workers during this transition phase - says the regional councilor for Productive Activities, Tamajo - The reconversion of the Giammoro steelworks towards activities related to the energy transition represents an important opportunity for our territory, but we cannot allow this transformation to happen at the expense of workers. Our goal is to build a sustainable future for Sicilian industry that passes through innovation and respect for the environment, without forgetting the centrality of workers and their families".

For the councilor, collaboration between institutions, ownership and workers' representatives is of fundamental importance, in order to find solutions that can guarantee the protection of employment and the production relaunch of the industrial site.
