Liguria Region: 1 million and 950 thousand euros to municipalities for the maintenance of hydraulic works.

The Liguria Region has given the green light to allocate 1 million and 950 thousand euros to Ligurian municipalities for maintenance work on hydraulic works and for cleaning waterways. It will be up to local administrations to identify the priorities for intervention in their respective territories. The funds come from state property fees.

“This year too, as in the past, we are allocating this contribution to the municipalities of our region – explains the councilor for soil protection – who, by the end of the year, will be able to use it in view of autumn, when the heaviest rainfall usually occurs in the area. Even apparently minimal interventions such as cleaning streams of vegetation are fundamental for the prevention and reduction of risk, alongside the implementation of major works to make waterways safe and soil defense interventions".

The contributions, from a minimum of 4 thousand to a maximum of 25 thousand euros per municipality, will be paid proportionally taking into account the municipal surface area, the resident population and the floodable surface area.
