Ravenna Bella di Sera, Arrigo Sacchi presented his book “The visionary realist”.

In Piazza San Francesco, inside the exhibition “Ravenna Beautiful in the Evening”, Arrigo Sacchi presents his book “The visionary realist”, written with Leonardo Patrignani and published by Cairo.

On stage, together with “prophet of Fusignano”, also the mayor Michele de Pascale and the journalist Carmelo Domini.

Arrigo Sacchi he was one of the coaches who most innovated the game of football. And he did it by winning everything with his "Immortals" Milan, imprinting his spectacular model in the memory of fans from every corner of the globe.

The «Prophet of Fusignano» in this book ideally opens the doors of his dressing room to reveal his professional secrets and values: how to convince a work group that what they have done up to that moment needs to be changed?

What are the first steps to take in a new, deeply conservative reality?

How do you choose the leader of a team, how do you manage star players and supporting players, pressure from superiors, successes and defeats?

With his methods and his philosophy that are both visionary and very concrete - applicable even in fields far from those in which Sacchi triumphed - he has won the trust and earned the admiration of Golden Balls like Ruud Gullit, of a warrior who became "leader calm" like Carlo Ancelotti, of very different former footballers who, inspired by his values, transformed themselves into winning coaches like Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte, of an innovative "scientist" of athletic training like Vincenzo Pincolini, of international level managers like Stefano Domenicali and Andrea Pontremoli, masters of journalism such as Carlo Verdelli: all witnesses in these pages of the revolution of the Visionary Realist.

ARRIGO SACCHI, born in 1946, owes to his hometown, in addition to his famous nickname (the "Prophet of Fusignano"), also his first footballing lessons. After starting to coach - exactly fifty years ago - in the lower leagues, he arrived at Parma and from there, in 1987, he made the big leap to Milan, where in just four seasons he won two Champions Cups, one Scudetto, one Italian Super Cup, two European Super Cups and two Intercontinental Cups.

His successes with the Rossoneri with what was defined by UEFA as the strongest club team ever earned him the appointment as coach of the national team which he led from 1991 to 1996, winning a second place at the 1994 US World Cup.

In 2000 he abandoned training and alternated his work as a commentator with roles as technical director.

In 2017 he was named by UEFA among the ten most influential coaches in football evolution, and in 2019 by France Football among the fifty best of all time (third overall and first among Italians). In 2022 he was awarded the UEFA President's Award for extraordinary sporting achievements, professional excellence and exemplary human qualities. He published Total Calcio (2015) and with Luigi Garlando La Coppa degli Immortali (2019).
