Milano, a tender for six municipal properties to host schools and educational activities

Six municipally owned buildings spread across different areas of Milano, will be banned and allocated to non-profit entities to host schools and educational activities. Participants in the tender will have to present a project proposal with a plan of activities and initiatives aimed at citizens and economic sustainability.

Six properties owned by the Municipality of Milano to host schools and educational activities. They will be put to notice and intended for non-profit entities, according to the guidelines approved yesterday by the Palazzo Marino Council on the proposal of the Councilor for Budget and Heritage, Emmanuel Conte, in concert with the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Education, Anna Scavuzzo, and with the Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies, Alessia Cappello.

Subject of the resolution there are six buildings of the municipal state property, with spaces which extend from 500 to 2.700 square meters in different neighborhoods of the city: in via Ciriè in Niguarda, in via Clericetti in Città Studi, in via Pestalozzi and via Tosi in the Ludovico il Moro area, in via Pini in Lambrate and in via Stratico in San Siro. They will be made available for 18 years, through a public tender procedure, to non-profit organisations, voluntary organisations, associations, cooperatives and social enterprises, at a starting price of less than a third of the market price.

"Already venues for training and scholastic activities, with our resolution - explains Conte - we enhance the educational vocation and social function manifested by these spaces, confirming that the real estate assets of the Municipality of Milano it is a fundamental asset of the city, valuable both when it is put to income and to support projects and initiatives of public interest. We can do this thanks to the Third Sector and the new rules, approved about a year ago, which specify the concessions on the assignment of properties for social, cultural, sporting, educational and training purposes, especially in peripheral contexts”.

The space in via Ciriè will be used as a venue for professional courses in manual arts, the building in via Pestalozzi 23 for educational services for children and nursery schools, the others four to host compulsory first cycle schools, including the secondary school, with the possibility of also settling educational services for children and nursery schools.
