Even in summer 2024 the State Police it will accompany the journey of those who take advantage of the summer to visit the main Italian tourist destinations.
Until September 15th women and men of the Traffic Police, on board particularly representative vehicles such as Lamborghini, Tesla, Pullman Azzurro or Camper Azzurro it will cross the entire country, reaching over 50 mountain and seaside tourist locations.
For the second consecutive year, the project “E…estate con noi” has landed in the province of Foggia and precisely in Manfredonia in Piazza Re Manfredi where, in the afternoon and evening hours of the 27th, the Traffic Police personnel carried out a raising awareness on road safety issues to involve young people in spreading the culture of safe driving.
As part of the initiatives aimed at raising road safety levels and spreading the culture of respecting the rules, the tourist resort of Manfredonia was affected by the presence of the Lamborghini and Camper Azzurro, the latter equipped with the most innovative technologies and with Traffic Police personnel specially trained in communication on board.
The vehicle represents a real traveling classroom where it will be possible to watch the screening of various films and test one's reflexes in a journey where, first hand, it is possible to understand what it means to drive in psychophysical conditions altered by the intake of alcohol or narcotic substances.
Hundreds of visitors of every age group attempted to complete the route, wore the appropriate glasses and, after having experienced firsthand the simulated alcoholic intoxication, or stopped to watch those who tried to do it, in an atmosphere of a pleasant evening, they stopped to ask for information and delve deeper into the topic with the staff trained in communication.
Undisputed protagonist, then, the Lamborghini Urus of the Traffic Police, the high-performance super SUV set up for the urgent transport of organs, plasma and blood and for special traffic police services.
On summer weekends when the traffic flow of holidaymakers intensifies, punctually monitored and "stamped" by Viabilità Italia, the Traffic Police, with the coordination of the Operational Centers located throughout the national territory, will be present on the nightlife roads, with numerous control devices and with intense proximity action to combat risky driving behaviour. All the technologies in use in the Specialty will be implemented as breathalyzers and precursors latest generation, street control, police controller. Furthermore, thanks to the collaboration of Ania Foundation and Autostrade per l'Italia, the mobile laboratory will also be used to ascertain on the road the state of psychophysical alteration due to drug use through second level analyses.
At the same time, to strengthen the action to combat risky driving behaviour, particular attention will also be paid to local activities aimed at promoting culture of legality by making users aware of the responsible and prudent behavior to adopt on the road to stem the phenomenon of road accidents which continues to claim victims especially among young people up to 24 years of age.
During the weekend characterized by a heavy flow of holidaymakers arriving and departing from seaside resorts and elsewhere, several control devices have been set up in the province of Foggia to counteract the phenomenon of driving under the influence of a state of psychophysical alteration caused by the intake of alcohol or narcotic substances, to raise safety standards when driving, hundreds of drivers were checked and some were sanctioned under the Highway Code.
