The Councilor: "central project for environmental, economic and social sustainability of Eastern Lombardy".
Maione, 300 thousand euros in three years to a knowledge hub for sustainable development in Brescia, Mantua and Cremona.
An allocation of 300.000 euros for the three-year period 24-26 dedicated to supporting the activities of the 'Knowledge Hub', the training project promoted by Cassa Padana, Polytechnic of Milano, Capirola Institute of Leno and Polytechnic Foundation of Milano. This is what is provided for by the resolution approved by the Lombardy Region on the proposal of the Councilor for the Environment and Climate, Giorgio Maione.
“The Po Valley – declared Maione – is the heart of the European economy. We want to develop an action plan to promote a Territorial Pact oriented towards economic, social and environmental sustainability, with particular reference to the agri-food system, in the territories of Bassa Bresciana and the provinces of Cremona and Mantua”.
“The awareness and training of economic operators, local authorities, citizens, trade associations, associations, universities and educational institutes – added the councilor – it is central. The 'Knowledge Hub' is already carrying out exceptional networking work aimed at spreading the culture of sustainability".
The collaboration between the Lombardy Region and the Polytechnic Foundation of Milano will allow, through the 'Knowledge Hub', to create training and information moments on environmental challenges and on the issues of environmental and energy sustainability, to develop workshops in schools and to carry out networking activities with companies.
“The process of ecological transition – concluded Maione – must be in tune with the territory. Lombardy is an international model of sustainability and, to further improve overall performance and communication, the promotion of scientific research, environmental education and the involvement of businesses are necessary”.
