MADAMA HOSTEL & BISTROT. ART, FOOD, ECO FRIENDLY DESIGN, MUSIC: A PLACE IN MILAN THAT HAS NO COMPARISON
A Milano, in Via Benaco 1, a unique Bistro and Hostel, with an eco-friendly design that characterizes it, a place with a strong personality.
Starting from the name, Madama ('police' in jargon), which is intended as a tribute to the history of the Liberty style building, typical of the Old Milano, which hosts it and which in the past was a police barracks.
The tables and chairs, as well as the bistro counter, the reception counter and the furnishings of the rooms, common room and dormitories, are made of rough wood and made with recycled materials: the old fixtures and doors of the former barracks, for example, they were transformed into tables and beds.
All the furniture was made by artisans who work in the city, such as the furnishings in the main room of the Bistrot, designed by ControProgetto, self-produced with the help of friends. But furnishings are constantly evolving and often the incursion of artisans, whether guests or acquaintances, brings new ideas and productions.
The venue is characterized by murals and works of art created by artists from Milan and beyond.
The world welcomed to Milano? At Madama it's reality! Many tourists come to Madama, and many Milanese spend their evenings here, happy hour, drinks, breakfast, lunch, dinner.
And precisely the connection with art is one of the most particular aspects of Madama: artists from all over the world, in fact, are not only able to send their works to be exhibited in the Madama Hostel & Bistrot premises, but are also invited to introduce themselves to paint directly on site.
