Lecce: Eco-Competition, the 5 winners will be rewarded in Piazza Sant'Oronzo. 

Tuesday 6 June, starting at 18pm, in Piazza Sant'Oronzo, near the Sedile, will be held Environmental Awareness Day with the awarding of 5 winners of the Eco-Competition linked to the traveling extraordinary collection days, organized by the Environment Department together with Monteco, the contracting company for the urban hygiene service in the city.

La ranking of the most virtuous citizens was drawn up based on the overall results of all the days di extraordinary traveling collection, to which they have been adding the contributions of the same product fractions conferred in Municipal Collection Centers from 25 June to 31 December 2022, as well as used vegetable oils and fats, metal packaging, used batteries, batteries and accumulators, neon lamps and tubes, cartridges and toners, cold and climate, TVs and monitors, electrical and electronic equipment, clothing and accessories.

I 5 winners will rewarded and with a bicycle, scooter a Go-pro cam e two SGM subscriptions.

The awareness day will also involve the Municipal Council of Boys and Girls (CCRR), which, at the conclusion of the work on the themes of Recycling, Reuse and Reduction of Residual Dry Waste, carried out in collaboration with Monteco, will show at the Open Space of Palazzo Carafa i videos on the environment they produce together with the photographic reportage of the guided tours carried out at the waste selection and valorisation plants destined for recycling, SudGas of Campi Salentina, that of composting, Heracles to Erchie. He won't miss it spot is preferably used for 2023 communication campaign "A Sacco Ugly – you make the difference”, wanted by the Department of the Environment and created by Monteco, directed by Ippolito Chiarello, with the collaboration of the Department of Education and the protagonists are the boys and girls of the Lecce City Council.

Lecce is growing a lot in environmental awareness together with the improvement in the percentages of separate waste collection but we must continue the work of raising awareness which sees the young generations being particularly receptive and involved. The spirit of the Eco-competition is the same that underlies the punctual pricing that we will soon introduce, thanks to the PNRR funds: you pay for what you contribute which translates into greater savings for families and a healthier environment in which to live".
