Bologna. As has already happened in other emergency situations and other territories outside the region, Emilia-Romagna says yes to the request for support which arrives from Rome after the vast fire atMalagrott disposal planta, which has drastically reduced the capacity to treat undifferentiated municipal waste in the capital. For a defined period - three months - it will welcome and treat in the Emilia-Romagna facilities a quantity of waste arriving from Rome, a rather small quantity (no more than 9.200 tonnes per month).

Availability that the President of the Region, Stefano Bonaccini, formalized today to the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, that on 26 December, having also heard the president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, had in turn written to Bonaccini to ask to be able to dispose of in plants in Emilia-Romagna, in order to safeguard citizens from risks to public hygiene and from prejudice to environmental quality, for decorum and urban liveability.

The operational plan and methods will come now defined by the multi-service companies involved. The transfer costs and payment methods must be agreed directly between the Managers, on the basis of the system costs and also taking into account an additional fee - equal to 20 euros for each ton of waste – as an environmental compensation, to be paid to the Municipality where the disposal plant is located.
