Belluno: “Skiing for life”, four wheelchairs to bring disabled people closer to the snow.

On Thursday 8 February, the ski champion Deborah Compagnoni, representing the non-profit association "Sciare per la Vita", delivered four wheelchairs for the disabled to the Luigi Gorza refuge, in the Porta Vescovo area in the Arabba ski area, which enrich an offer of services aimed at creating a tourist and sporting centre, in which, for the entire period of the year, a person with a disability or with difficulties of any kind (even merely temporary), can practice the sport of skiing or simply enjoy the beauty and benefits of a trip to the mountains.

The State Police wanted to demonstrate its closeness to the initiative with the presence on site of the Vicar of the Police Commissioner and of the specialist staff in the mountain security and rescue service in the Arabba area, to once again underline the message of solidarity of which , every day, the policemen and women become bearers, in accordance with the deepest values of their mission, to always be there to defend the freedoms and fundamental rights of all individuals, but above all to promote the social inclusion of the most weak or in difficulty
In fact, for years now the State Police, through the Alpine Training Center of Moena, has been collaborating on a series of initiatives dedicated to disabled athletes, among which the teaching of skiing to people with neuromotor disabilities is particularly popular.
