Bari: the Le due Bari 2024 notice has been published, 555 thousand euros available to support live entertainment activities.

The Councilor for Culture Ines Pierucci announces that it is online on the institutional website of the Municipality, at this to link, the public notice Le due Bari 2024, financed for a total amount 555.370,33 of euros by the general entertainment directorate of the MiC - Ministry of Culture to support the creation of live entertainment activities in the peripheral areas of the municipal territory, through the granting of contributions.

The initiative, as is known, is aimed at enhancing the intangible cultural heritage through entertainment activities, including those of an innovative nature, aimed at cultural and social inclusion, in compliance with employment protections and category contracts, and at carrying out territorial rebalancing actions through strengthening the cultural offering and promoting training initiatives and workshops dedicated to the performing arts.

In particular, the financial resources made available by the MiC are intended for the creation of live entertainment projects in all its forms (theatre, music, dance, circus and traveling shows), including multidisciplinary ones, in the target areas* of the municipal territory, referred to in dgn 760 of 23.11.2017, in the period included between 1 July and 30 September 2024.

Based on ministerial guidelines, the call has as its objectives social inclusion and cohesion in the areas of intervention, the social and cultural revitalization of the urban context and the socio-economic impact on the territory.

At the same time, the notice aims to enhance the professionalism of the live entertainment sector, identifying the beneficiaries of the resources among cultural operators with significant experience in the sector, financed by the MiC as part of the National Fund for Live Entertainment (formerly FUS ), that is, operating in the live entertainment sector for at least three years, giving them the opportunity to attribute new meanings to the most peripheral urban contexts through the performing arts, with the involvement of citizens and social realities present in the area.

“Culture outside institutional places and inside neighborhoods, among people, is the hallmark of this political time in the city – comments Ines Pierucci –. In recent years we have developed a strategy and vision on the city's cultural policies dictated by listening from below to cultural operators and the community. We have built a street where cultural workers walk, who in turn build bridges of peace between neighborhoods through music and art. It was a gentle revolution from below, the result of the resistance of cultural workers and artists, partisans of art.

Culture is a determining factor in improving the quality of life and image of communities, as well as a driving force for economic development: we have demonstrated this in recent years with the creation of numerous opportunities that promote local culture and knowledge of cultural places , amplifying the voice of culture like a megaphone. The public is constantly changing and awaits the Bari summer programme, consolidated in recent years with hundreds of events, starting with Arene Culturali and continuing with Le due Bari, to which is added the Festa del mare with the Bari Piano Festival, Locus , Bari in jazz and Rota Prize.

Thanks to the financial measures implemented by the Municipality, which saw synergy with the Ministry of Culture, from 2020 to 2024 we invested on average one million euros per year in favor of culture and live entertainment.

I hope that in the long term, through the permanent allocation of ministerial resources and the increase in those of the civic budget, the consolidation of a widespread and seasonally adjusted cultural schedule can be achieved".

Following the announcement, the Municipality of Bari will recognize a contribution - aimed at covering up to 100% of the expenses necessary for the candidate initiative - ranging from a minimum of 30.000 and a maximum of 55.000 euros, to project proposals that are positively evaluated and which have achieved a score of at least 70/100, until the available resources are exhausted.

Bodies financed under the Single Entertainment Fund or professional bodies operating in the live entertainment sector for at least three years (as resulting from the charges paid to the Entertainment Workers Pension Fund) who meet the requirements of referred to in the art. 3 of the notice.
