Bari. New model of widespread social condominium for people in conditions of high social marginality promoted by the Welfare Department.
The Welfare Department announces that the widespread social condominium is being launched "Together at home", reserved for families in housing emergency assigned homes in Bari Vecchia and financed with PNRR funds - Mission 5 "Inclusion and cohesion” – Component 2 “Social infrastructures, families, communities and the third sector” – Subcomponent 1 “Social services, disability and social marginality“, Investment 1.3.1 – Housing First).
The project will be presented tomorrow, Tuesday 30 January, at 18 pm, in Strada Santa Teresa delle Donne 8, in the headquarters of the social cooperative We Work Together, winner of the tender: Welfare councilor Francesca Bottalico and the cooperative team will illustrate the contents of the notice and, at the same time, will take care of collecting the needs and starting the accompaniment process for the families concerned.
The objective of the municipal administration is to create a new innovative model of housing first for people and families in conditions of high social marginality, planned for the first time within buildings owned by the municipality in which, in recent months, renovation and energy efficiency works have been carried out, which involved the renovation of the flat roofs, the redevelopment of the hydraulic and electrical systems, the renovation of some toilets, painting of the walls and small maintenance interventions.
The beneficiaries of the service have been identified by the professional social service of the Municipality of Bari: a personalized project (PAI) will be activated for them aimed at promoting autonomy paths that range from support for the payment of utilities to accompaniment to local services, from identification of training and pre-professional courses to support minors in families.
“After having completed the entire administrative process, we can finally start with the co-planning together with the 11 families from Bari identified for the project – he comments Francesca Bottalico -. This experiment is added to the others which, in recent years, have given rise to a real co-housing network, an experimental intervention transformed into an important social programming action, with the involvement of over 800 people.
The peculiarity of this innovative model of widespread social condominium, aimed at people and families in conditions of high social marginality, lies in the fact that for the first time it involves a municipal property, renovated and made energy efficient thanks to the collaboration of the Heritage Department.
The co-housing activities that are intended to be carried out include::
- the assessment of people's needs and resources in order to define the accompanying activities through a multidimensional path;
- secretarial and orientation activities for access to services, programs and benefits;
- integrated team work aimed at defining, sharing and monitoring a personalized support project for each of the beneficiaries;
- flexible support and accompaniment activities for educators, also through work in the area and within local networks;
- the micro-mapping of the territory aimed at identifying potential resources and community spaces to be activated, based on the permanent care of specific people (parishes, recreational and cultural clubs, solidarity condominiums, etc.);
- support and accompaniment to local services, with the identification of training and pre-professional courses and support for minors in family units;
- the social concierge service as well as the supervision of compliance with the rules by the guests of the structure;
- support and accompaniment activities in carrying out administrative and healthcare procedures;
- the identification of solidarity networks in terms of resources and community spaces in favor of the beneficiaries;
- the reporting of serious faults and significant malfunctions of the structures and infrastructures, the promotion and management of periodic condominium meetings, the control of the cleanliness of the common areas, of the appurtenant spaces inside and outside the properties;
- environmental education aimed at ensuring compliance with cleanliness and hygiene.
It will be the project partner ETS, the social cooperative Employment and Solidarity, to guarantee the assistance of the professional figures necessary for a successful outcome of the experimental process:

- two social workers
- 1 psychologist
