Bari: Historical Procession of San Nicola 2024, awarded to Anti Doc Servizi soc. coop., Popya srl ​​and Password srl.

The Culture division announces that the tender commission for the conception, design, implementation, organization and integrated management of the Historical procession of San Nicola – 2024 edition awarded the procedure in favor of Ati Doc Servizi soc. coop., Pooya srl ​​and Password srl (DD n. 5173/2024) for a total tender amount equal to € 81.147,54 (€99.000 VAT included).

"Upward" is the title of the winning project, which, in line with tradition and with the sentiment of the faithful, intends to highlight the idea of ​​hope, transmitted by Saint Nicholas, as an impulse towards a better future, achievable from a new perspective.

The celebration will remember the need to face the challenges that our time requires, an incitement to return to having a higher hope than everyday life, divisions and disappointments.

Symbolically, looking upwards means returning to believing in a common, universal hope that transcends and cancels differences and wars; it means going back to believing in great impulses, in higher ideals of love.

The event will focus on the narratives they tell Nicholas as the Saint in defense of injustices and the weak, protector of the innocent, of minorities, he who thanks to his spiritual generosity and his nobility of purpose is capable of pushing humanity to higher moral virtues, of giving a new vision of universal hope , shared among the people.

The 2024 edition will therefore focus on the representation, in the form of values ​​and scenic action, of the concept of "height" expressed in the deeds of the Saint.

The artistic direction of the event will be entrusted to Raffaello Fusaro, director, author and performer from Bari graduated from the Silvio d'Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, with active readings and literary performances in Italy and abroad.

As a director, among other things, he narrated the reconstruction of the Genoa bridge in the film “A Bridge of our time”, with Renzo Piano and the music of Danilo Rea, and directed the opening of the Veronese Summer Theater at the 2023 Shakespearean Festival at the Roman Theater with “Love beds” starring Laura Morante, Giuliana De Sio, Francesco Montanari and Filippo Dini.

Fusaro is also the director of the successful “Infinito tour” (in progress) by Roberto Vecchioni and of the video clip: “Those years were formidable”. He is on stage with the philosopher Umberto Galimberti in “When life was governed by the heart”.

He collaborated as an author and director of the show “The secrets of the sea” with Piero Angela and Alberto Luca Recchi (tour 2019/2022). With Christian De Sica he is the author and collaborator in the direction of the show “Christian recounts Christian De Sica” (tour 2018/20).

As is known, the ATI awarded the tender will now have to communicate with the Res Extensa company (which will curate an aerial dance show on the evening of May 7th under the artistic direction of Elisa Barucchieri) to better define the coordination of the show actions so that the entire event appears as a unitary moment, strengthened by the collaboration between multiple subjects.
