Arezzo: “Vasari 2024” project, collaboration agreement between the Municipality, CRF Foundation and Guido d'Arezzo Foundation approved.
The collaboration agreement between the Municipality of Arezzo, the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Foundation and the Guido d'Arezzo Foundation for the realization of the “Vasari 2024” project has been approved by the council. The path is therefore taking shape which will lead next year, on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of Giorgio Vasari's death, to the creation of an exhibition dedicated to him within a wider and more comprehensive program of initiatives, events and appointments not only exhibitions, dedicated to the figure of the great Arezzo master and which will be scheduled for the occasion. At the center of the program is the international exhibition of strong scientific value which will be hosted in the city and which will enhance the figure of Giorgio Vasari, artist and man of letters, absolute protagonist of the humanistic culture of his time. The entire “Vasari 2024” project makes use of a scientific committee, composed of renowned experts, coordinated by Professor Cristina Acidini and Professor Carlo Sisi.
“This is a very important agreement that will allow the city of Arezzo to create a program of great artistic, cultural and scientific level on the occasion of the Vasari celebrations – comments the mayor Alessandro Ghinelli -. The extraordinary historical and cultural figure of Giorgio Vasari will be the protagonist of a highly significant cultural event that will bring Arezzo to the center of national artistic interest. I would like to thank in particular the members of the scientific committee of the celebrations who are working towards the creation of an exhibition which will offer the unique and unrepeatable opportunity to admire together the most significant works of the Arezzo master".
