Liguria Region will be present from 29 June to 5 July 2025 at the next Universal Exhibition to be held in Osaka, Japan.
“Liguria opens a new window on the world and does so by participating in none other than the Universal Exposition of Osaka 2025 – says the interim president of the Liguria Region Alessandro Piana – In the Italian Pavilion, an exhibition space dedicated to our artistic excellence will be set up. Our companies will also be able to use the meeting spaces free of charge, and during the Ligurian week there will be presentations of Ligurian food and wine products. A real journey to discover our traditions”.
“Osaka will transform into a global showcase where participating countries will present to the world the best of their exemplary and innovative ideas, projects and models in the field of tangible and intangible infrastructure – explains the regional councilor for economic development Alessio Piana – Liguria is a unique territory for its diversification between the coast and the hinterland and for its ability to combine food excellence with luxury, beauty and technology in sectors such as sailing. It is therefore necessary and useful - adds Piana - to accompany our companies to Japan, through Liguria International, and to demonstrate, even on international stages, how solid the collaboration between regional administrators and companies is".
“In 2025 Liguria will conquer Japan, a growing tourist market given that in 2023 Japanese tourists grew by 64% compared to 2022 – states the regional councilor for Tourism Augusto Sartori – This is an excellent result but the numbers tell us that visitors from the Land of the Rising Sun can and must still grow. With the presence at the Expo in Osaka first and then in Tokyo for the ItaliaAmoreMio event organized by the Italian-Japanese Chamber of Commerce, after the reconnaissance and inspection trip made last May together with Agenzia InLiguria, we will meet many operators to continue the promotional activity and to ensure that our region is an even more popular destination for the Japanese”.
Liguria inside the Italian Pavilion will have an exhibition area available for the representation of a regional exhibition that will present works of art, artifacts and traditions on the history, identity, beauty and diversity of the regional territory.
In addition, it will provide a work of art to be placed in the Garden of the Italian Pavilion. Companies will have free access to institutional representation spaces to hold B2B meetings.
During the Ligurian week, typical regional dishes will be included in the menu of the Italian Pavilion.
