Verona: 'La Voce', theater show on eating disorders in minors.

The show was brought to the stage in Verona, after having already reached over 5 thousand students in Northern Italy "The voice", created by Carola Minincleri Colussi for Farmacia Zooè, an independent theater company founded in 2006 in Mestre (VE) and specialized in civil theater shows.
The event was presented by the councilor for school policies and health. Present were the president of Agesc provincial Verona Margherita Siberna Benaglia, the president and vice-president of the Agesc school committee at the Stimate Lorenzo Da Ronco and Andrea Lanza. "The voice" is loosely based on "Beyond. Finding oneself fragile: confessions about (my) eating disorder”, an autobiographical book by Sandra Zodiaco, who will be present in the room and will introduce the performance, describing her recovery journey from anorexia nervosa.
At the end of the show, a dialogue was held with the association La Crisalide lilla, which for years has supported the families of people with eating disorders, supporting them on the healing path.
The event promoted by Agesc Verona, the Association of Catholic school parents, active since 1976 and present in 23 institutes in Verona and its province, with over 6.900 associated parents, in collaboration with the Agesc Committee of the Alle Institute, promoted the awareness and prevention evening. “The initiative intends to help parents, giving an additional key to understanding the youthful malaise that can lead to eating disorders – explains the president of Agesc Verona –: with pleasure we have extended this project, which began at the Stimates with classroom work, extending it to all our schools and opening it to citizens, to break the taboo that still surrounds these topics today".
Eating disorders. According to the Ministry of Health, in our country eating disorders are the second cause of death among young people, after road accidents. They mainly affect the age group between 15 and 19, but the age of onset is getting lower; males are increasingly affected, whereas until recently they were pathologies mainly widespread among females.
