Tuscany: the Carabinieri takes part in the 2024 edition of the "Run4hope" in support of cancer research, the start was Florence.

The Carabinieri, which has always been actively committed to the protection of public health, has also joined the charity initiative this year “Run4hope”, organized starting in 2021, in support of the main cancer research associations. In the first quarter of 2024, the AIRC Foundation and AIL (Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma) were identified as beneficiaries and, in alternate years, receive the contribution raised by the event.
The 4th edition of the non-competitive solidarity running race was held which, divided into twenty regional relays simultaneously throughout Italy, will tour Italy with the aim of raising funds to support research and treatment of oncological diseases of the blood.
Thanks to 400 sports associations, dozens of departments of the Italian Army, the Navy, the Air Force, various sections of the Italian Referees Association, the Paralympic Defense Sports Group and numerous individual runners, the involvement of at least 40.000 is expected runners.

The Carabinieri, in addition to having set up fifty info points distributed throughout the area, participates with the direct use of the Carabinieri Student School of Campobasso.
The event benefits from the patronage of, among many bodies, CONI, Fidal, Fitri, the Italian Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Carabinieri, Fiamme Oro, Fiamme Azzurre, Fiamme Gialle, AIA, ANCI, ASI, AICS, CSI FIASP , Football Associations, Unioncamere and various territorial bodies including Regions, Provinces and Municipalities.
This is a unique initiative of its kind as it is structured on relays organized synchronously in each region.

The departure took place from the regional capitals, and in the following days the baton was toured from city to city based on the predefined program for daily stages ranging from 10 to 50 km.

The arrival took place in the same cities of departure in the case of a circular route or of final arrival in the case of linear or semi-linear routes.
For our region the start was in Florence.

The Carabinieri, together with the other Armed Forces and their respective Sports Groups, has granted its patronage, highlighting the national importance of the initiative, thanks to the solidarity purpose of the regional relays who will gradually carry the baton, a message of altruism and commitment to AIL.

Values ​​fully shared by the Army which makes courage, professional preparation, sense of duty, responsibility, tenacity, esprit de corps and self-sacrifice the key principles on which it is based and which every soldier is inspired by on a daily basis.
