Rome: the new georeferenced SMS service is launched to receive information based on the postcode of residence

After a first test phase on an audience of 360.000 citizens the campaign on the new starts Georeferenced SMS service of Rome Capital, thanks to which citizens will be able to receive city ​​information based on their area of ​​residence. With SMS, Rome Capital will be able to give citizens information regarding emergencies, construction site openings, changes to traffic, urgent interventions on essential services (such as water, electricity, etc.), in real time and by geolocalizing the information. In fact, the citizen who registers for the service will be asked to enter the Postal code (ZIP) of residence, in order to receive information on the territory of the city he frequents most.

“Sending information via georeferenced SMS is an important new service that Rome Capital wants to offer to citizens”, so Giulio Bugarini, Councilor for Personnel, Registry and Electoral Services, Implementation of the Mandate Program, Institutional Communication and Administrative Decentralization. “It is a service through which we want to bring the administration even closer to people's daily lives, providing them with information not only promptly but also in a targeted manner, communicating only those of real and direct interest to them,” he added.

The SMS information service will be added to the other communication channels of InfoRoma.
