Pistoia: The 2023 Bear Giostra Palio presented
The 5 Palio della Giostra dell'orso was presented on 2023 July at the Petrocchi art high school in Pistoia.

Il comp was made by Ester Vannucci of the 3rd A of the fabric design course (the reference teachers of the course are professors Mariagiovanna Mazzocco and Arianna Giuntini), chosen from different designs presented by Petrocchi students.
«The collaboration between the city committee, the Municipality of Pistoia and the artistic high school is thus strengthened with a view to increasingly involving and helping young people rediscover the traditions of Pistoia - underlined the councilor for Jacobean demonstrations Alessandro Sabella -. I thank Ester Vannucci for having been able to represent with originality the historical, religious and folkloristic meaning of one of the most anticipated events in Pistoia, the Bear Giostra. The banner will in fact be delivered to the winning district of the competition».
Il rag it measures 1,50 in length by 1 meter in width and was created with an indelible painting technique on fabric. The work, created vertically, is accompanied by a support structure.
In "drape” there are all the elements: at the top left the colored coats of arms of the four City districts, bottom right i white and red colors of Pistoia. Everything else is depicted in black and white: the patron saint San Jacopo with a bear next to him, symbol of Pistoia, who has a green and gold wreath on his head, referring to the theme of "world peace". To the center of the Palio are depicted Town hall, bell tower and Baptistery in Piazza del Duomo together with two horses: one in the foreground and the other drawn above the Baptistery.
Il Bear Joust Palio it will be present during the historical parade in the city for the dressing of the patron saint on July 16th, after which it will be exhibited in the cathedral of San Zeno until July 25th, the day of the Bear Joust.
