Pesaro: The Sport Citadel of Torraccia takes shape.
It is a shape dictated by the curves of the cycle roller track Citadel of Sport of Torraccia, whose executive project is worth 1,5 million euros, financed by the Pnrr “Sport and social inclusion”, was approved yesterday by the council.
«The tender has started and by June we will begin work on the construction of the structure which will house the gym, offices and changing rooms. It is a project of great importance for Pesaro and its sporting vocation – explain Mila Della Dora, councilor for Speed and Riccardo Pozzi, councilor for Action -. The multipurpose track and the structure that will be built in one of the 'loops' of the circuit, integrating into the appearance and use of the circuit, will increase the presence of companies, sports promotion bodies, infrastructures and above all of the public interested in well-being and movement, even on holiday."
The new plant will be built in Tombaccia, in the area close to the Vitrifrigo Arena and involves the construction of the 22,5 x 9,5 meter building adjacent to the track (on two levels) in which a gym equipped with changing rooms and showers, infirmary, offices and additional equipment will be located, sized on the basis of CONI regulations for sports facilities.
In particular, on the ground floor, there are: changing rooms for athletes equipped with accessible bathrooms and showers, office/secretariat, infirmary, workshop, accessible public bathrooms and bar (with double entrance, both from the track front and from the street front). On the first floor, connected by a covered gallery that will overlook the track, there will be the changing rooms for the competition judges and a gym equipped with changing rooms and bathrooms accessible for fitness and floor exercises. The roof of the building will house the photovoltaic system.
To complete the project, there will be an area dedicated to outdoor activities measuring 32x19 metres, located in the square of the cycling track, where it will be possible to practice basketball (and compatible disciplines such as volleyball, five-a-side football, tennis, etc. ), outdoor fitness and calisthenics, free body exercises and activities with specific equipment.
«The objective is that it also becomes a meeting point for young people and families in the neighborhood who will be able to find in the Cittadella dello Sport a space for socializing in a place that is very easy to reach and overlooks the greenery» they conclude Della Dora and Pozzi.
