Oristano: the one million 200 thousand project approved for the redevelopment of the recreational areas of Torre Grande
La Sanna arrived, on the proposal of the Councilor for Public Works Simone Prevete, has the technical and economic feasibility project was approved and the definitive one for the redevelopment of the recreational areas of Torre Grande.
"The one million 200 thousand euro project is financed with funds from the Urban Regeneration Program and intervenes to contribute to the tourist relaunch of Torre Grande – specifies the Mayor Massimiliano Sanna – The objective is to complete and redevelop the Major Events Area, the Camper Area and the car park behind the Stella Maris Church, making them functional and attractive for tourism, finally allowing full usability by tourists and all the people of Oristano".
"The areas subject to the intervention are located at the entrance to Torre Grande and through this completion and redevelopment project we aim to transform the Major Events Area into a space that can be used all year round by all citizens, which can be equipped for events such as concerts , shows, festivals or other attractive events – adds the Councilor for Public Works Simone Prevete -. The favorable position of Torre Grande has often proven to be a strong point of the island's tourist offer. With this project we promote full usability of the areas. The current configuration of the spaces today does not allow for events of a certain level to be hosted without huge organizational commitments. For this reason it is necessary to remove the current confinement with the metal mesh and gates and connect the area with pedestrian paths, partially suitable for vehicles, in order to guarantee full accessibility and free use. In this way, for large events there would be no defined capacity limits, other than the physical limits of the areas actually available, and entrance management would be organized with mobile systems and dedicated staff. The parking areas with the specially created dirt road and the spaces in the nearby areas will make it possible to better manage the influx even during large events. The camper parking area will be able to increase its reception capacity and accommodate up to 150 campers and a maximum of 400 users".
"This is a project of great importance for Torre Grande – underlines Tourism Councilor Luca Faedda -. Let's unlock a work that will be able to contribute decisively to the tourist and economic relaunch of our seaside resort. Many sporting, cultural and entertainment events have confirmed the potential of Torre Grande".
Il approved project on the day of 15nd June by the Sanna Council provides for the reclamation of areas bordering rubble, ferrous scrap and other waste not comparable to MSW, the removal of the perimeter fence, the verification of the functionality of the technological systems for the purposes of their completion and commissioning, the rehabilitation of existing buildings by restoring plaster and paint, the replacement of some ceiling light points in the building that houses the refreshment point, the installation of a heat pump air conditioning system in the refreshment point and in the changing rooms.
È expected also the completion of the systems di production of domestic hot water, water, sewage and electrical connections, the creation of a multipurpose surface to be used as an exhibition space and/or car park, the internal completion and re-functionalisation of the buildings of the former ticket offices in the Major Events Area, the creation of perimeter flower beds for green areas, a pedestrian path with light service vehicles to connect the area with the provincial road to Oristano and a lighting system for the external areas with street lamps and light towers.
