Naples, safety works at Castel dell'Ovo.

It was approved today in the Council, on the proposal of Mayor Manfredi, a resolution with withdrawal from the reserve fund of about 83 thousand euros to finance safety measures through the creation of a temporary protected route, of the walkway of Castel dell'Ovo, near the elevators, where tuff fragments detached.

The collapse had caused the closing of the Castle to the public from the morning of Thursday 14 April.

The expense for the safety intervention will be anticipated by the Municipality of Naples but will remain the responsibility of theDemanio Agency through compensation with employment allowances and/or fees still owed by the Municipality.

“To protect an extraordinary heritage of the city, we have decided to immediately finance works emergency in Castel dell'Ovo waiting to regulate the new agreement with the State Property Office and the Ministry of Culture, bodies with which an active dialogue is underway" the comment of the mayor Gaetano Manfredi.
