Naples, 5 properties delivered to the legitimate assignees.

This morning, Tuesday 26th April, in the Council Room of Palazzo San Giacomo the Mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi and the Councilor for Social Policies Luca Trapanese handed over the keys to the properties in via San Nicola al Nilo owned by the municipality to those entitled, 5 elderly people without housing options.

The delivery ceremony was attended by, in addition to the Mayor, the Councilor and the assignees, the Manager of the Welfare Area Mariarosaria Cesarino, the president of the Welfare commission Massimo Cilenti and the president of the IV Municipality Maria Caniglia.

The recipients are four women and one transgender person between 68 and 86 years old while the procedures for the assignment of two other apartments are underway.

An additional apartment instead (8 in total those available to assign) it has already been assigned to a person who has chosen to renovate it independently and has been living there for a few months now.

The apartments are of different sizes, completely renovated. The properties are specifically intended for self-sufficient elderly, already in the care of or otherwise known to social services, without housing possibilities.

The assignments were made following a public notice and then transmitted to Territorial Social Service Centers.

The people to whom the properties have been assigned are known and followed by social services as recipients of the inclusion income (rei).

No specific financing lines were adopted for the renovation of these accommodations, the redevelopment works were in fact carried out by the Heritage Technical Service with municipal funds.

The apartments were free for several years and thanks to the activity of the municipal Welfare Directorate this morning they will be permanently inhabited by needy people after having been empty for a long time.
