Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, in the presence of city councilors Sergio D'Angelo (international manager of coordination of local authorities in the Mediterranean as delegated by the presidency of the city council) and Rosario Andreozzi, met a representative of the Palestinian community in Naples at Palazzo San Giacomo. During the meeting, the municipal administration's support for the demands for peace and the restoration of a solution of dialogue between the parties for the protection of the values of international law and the protection of civilians was reiterated.
The requests made by the Administration and the City Council express the need for a more intense diplomatic effort on the part of the European Union, also through the involvement of the cities, in awareness of the role that the city of Naples has as one of the main Capitals of Culture Mediterranean euro.
Furthermore, the importance of strengthening the guidelines expressed by the European Resolution approved on 18 January and the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in order to promote the peace process based on Israel's right to security were reiterated. and the right to statehood for the Palestinian people, as well as the need for the unconditional release of the hostages and the restoration of humanitarian aid to the civilian population.
