Lombardy: 3 million euros for companies that make films and documentaries in the region.
A call to support cinematographic companies that make films and documentaries in Lombardy. It was established, for the first time, by the Lombardy Region through an allocation of 3 million euros approved by the Regional Council on the proposal of the Councilor for Culture, Francesca Caruso.
LOMBARDIA FOR THE CINEMA – The 'Lombardy for cinema' measure will support small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector for the creation of audiovisual works of cultural value in the regional territory, intended for national and international distribution.
CARUSO: UNPREDICTABLE MEASURE FOR THE LOMBARDIA – “This is an unprecedented measure – highlighted councilor Caruso – which as the Lombardy Region we are implementing for the first time. The objectives are multiple. With this call we intend to strengthen and improve the competitiveness of the audiovisual and cinematographic production sector, thus favoring the attraction of investments in Lombardy with benefits for related industries and employment".
ENHANCEMENT OF THE TERRITORY – “Facilitating – continued Caruso – the creation of quality films, documentaries and audiovisual products in our territory also means promoting, in concrete terms, the cultural, landscape and natural heritage of Lombardy”.
The regional council resolution approved the criteria and requirements of the implementation notice, which will be published by next autumn.
THE CATEGORIES OF ELIGIBLE WORKS – 2,4 million euros will be allocated to feature films and serial works, both fiction and animation, while for single documentaries and serials, the financial allocation will be 600.000 euros.
Further measures will then be implemented by the Lombardy Region in the coming months to also support the production of short films and the development phase of audiovisual works.
NON-REFUNDABLE CONTRIBUTIONS – The regional subsidy will be granted on a non-refundable basis to the maximum extent of 50% of the eligible production costs incurred in Lombardy. Following the publication of the implementation notice, the recipients of the measure will be able to submit applications through the Online Notices platform in the times and ways indicated in the notice itself.
