Latina: in September a musical moment dedicated to jazz in the gardens of the Municipality.
A musical moment dedicated to jazz in the gardens of the Municipality of Latina. This is the direction given by the council which met yesterday. For the conclusion of the program of tourist-cultural events relating to the 2023 season and to diversify the cultural offer, it was decided to offer the city a musical moment within the municipal gardens, located in Piazza del Popolo. The event, for which a maximum expenditure of 10 thousand euros has been foreseen, will take place by mid-September 2023. On the recommendation of the Mayor of Latina, the manager of the Culture, Tourism and Sport service has given the mandate to adopt the necessary administrative acts to carry out the event.
“This administration – declared Matilde Celentano – has taken among its priority objectives the cultural and tourist valorisation of its territory, to be achieved also with the promotion, planning and implementation of cultural initiatives and activities. Using the gardens of the town hall as a location was a choice dictated by the prospect of transforming the territory into a widespread theatre, to make palaces, historic squares, as well as buildings marked by a strong architectural sign where the past dialogues with contemporaneity. In this case, in particular, we wanted to recognize the value of jazz which has contributed to Latina's growth in its internationalization, as a first sign of what we would like to achieve in the future. In fact, it has always been a window that the city has kept open on the world and on art. After the return of wedding celebrations in the gardens of the municipal court, loudly requested by hundreds of betrothed - concluded the Mayor - it is therefore our intention to also use them for cultural events such as this one which will take place in September. In this way they can be known and appreciated by residents, but also by those who come to our city from outside."
