Important result achieved thanks to the teamwork and dedication of the library staff.
Lecco: The library has become “Born to Read Presidium”.
For years the U. Pozzoli civic library of Lecco is busy on territory in the training of parents and operators, with the ultimate aim of spreading the passion for reading. Become Born to Read Presidium means getting a national recognition, at the end of a preparation process that lasted more than a year, which saw the librarians engaged in reorganizing the spaces, reviewing the bibliographic material and carrying out specific and in-depth training courses.
Born to Read is a program born in 1999 and promoted by the Cultural Association of Paediatricians, the Center for Child Health and the Italian Association of Libraries for spread reading activities throughout Italy, interacting with clinics, hospitals, schools and, of course, libraries. Read to children, from an early age, is a act of love which will allow the little ones to boosts up not just the language, but also the interaction with others and theirs emotional baggage. The adultsFurthermore, they find in this practice a moment of sharing precious that creates an indissoluble and profound bond with their children.

Among numerous initiatives Born to Read addressed to adults with pre-school children promoted in Lecco, the next one, entitled “The pleasure of reading together”, Will be held Saturday 22 July in the courtyard (or in the kids' room in case of bad weather) and it will be dedicated to families of children aged 0 to 3 years. The library also has a space entirely dedicated to the program, where you can find books and soft furnishings, a breastfeeding space and a baby pit stop.
