"An approval – underlines the vice-president of the Region, Irene Priolo– which tells us we are going in the right direction. The 2022 result is very good overall, especially since it concerns the first year of the new planning season. A result certainly achieved thanks to the precious contribution of all citizens who increasingly understand the importance of behaving respectfully of the environment".
“The period we are experiencing in recent months is very complex, – adds Priolo – also with regards to waste. We are managing over 150 thousand tons of flood waste which is added to the ordinary but, despite this, all the territories are responding with maximum commitment, even after a difficult period from this point of view, such as that of Covid. Despite this, I am sure that, together, we will be able to get back up even from this latest emergency".
With regard to different types of waste disposed of separately, it should be noted that in 2022 the highest percentage of waste separation concerns the organic fraction (37,3%), followed by paper (19,4%), glass (9,7%), wood (8,85, 8,7%), plastic (4,6%) and bulky items (XNUMX%).
