The scheme for the "Pact to protect the Territory"
Cerano (BR): The agreement for the construction of a photovoltaic system and the redevelopment of the Cesare Braico park has been approved.
The municipal administration approved the scheme for the “Pact to protect the Territory” between the Municipality of Brindisi and the Cerano Energreen company relating to the construction of a photovoltaic system called “Cerano”, in the locality of the same name, containing environmental and territorial compensation and rebalancing measures to be paid by the proponents. The plant will be located near the Federico II Thermoelectric Power Plant with a total surface area of approximately 176 hectares. Of these, 141 hectares will be occupied by the photovoltaic system and 35 hectares will be allocated to reforestation.
Once built, the plant will be connected to the national transmission grid. The Pact, which will be officially signed in the next few days, has as its object the development of a collaboration program between the parties to make the construction site a development engine for the local economy, through the implementation of measures and works of environmental, territorial and social accompaniment to the territory. Cerano Energreen is now committed to carrying out interventions for a total value of 1.490.000 euros as works to compensate for impacts on the territory.
The municipal administration wants to allocate these resources to the redevelopment of the Cesare Braico park, an intervention to be formalized with the Brindisi Local Health Authority which owns the park, given the importance of the city's green lung, one of the longest-lived and requiring maintenance and modernisation, with the inclusion of elements for families and athletes.
