Benevento, a thousand plants in Parco De Mita thanks to the Think Forestry project
"Parco De Mita - explained the Mayor - will presumably be inaugurated this summer"
Benevento, a thousand plants in Parco De Mita thanks to the Think Forestry project.
It has been presented on March 26th in Piazzale Catullo, in the presence of the mayor Clemente Mastella, by Giuseppe Mario Nargi, regional director of Campania, Calabria and Sicily of Intesa Sanpaolo, and by Gennaro Masiello, national vice-president and number one Samnite of Coldiretti, the initiative, promoted by Rete Clima and Intesa Sanpaolo and joined by the Municipality of Benevento, which involves the planting of a thousand plants within the large spaces of the De Mita Park. It is part of the Think Forestry project, part of the largest national Forest Italy campaign, promoted together with the national Coldiretti and PEFC Italia, which the Municipality of Benevento has joined.
"I thank Intesa Sanpaolo and Rete Clima who, through this form of partnership, make Parco De Mita a green lung of the city. It is an initiative that looks to the future, to the new generations to first turn on small lights and then generate a light with respect to the climate and the healthiness of the air" explained the Mayor.
"De Mita Park - he continued - it will presumably be inaugurated as early as this summer upon completion of the assignment process. It will be a large green area available to the city for leisure, sports and events in the open-air theatre. In this regard, I had a conversation with Maestro Mimmo Paladino and with the director of the Giffoni Film Festival Claudio Gubitosi to study the possibility of a thematic area dedicated to the myth of the Witches, right here in Parco De Mita".
"Widespread forestation - then explained the Councilor for the Environment Alessandro Rosa - it is a strategic target of the Mastella Administration. With the planting of around 3 thousand trees we hope to absorb one thousand tonnes of Co2: a contribution to building a better future".
