The decision relating to the signing of the first implementation contract within the framework agreement, for a total amount of, has been published 3 million euro, for the awarding of the extraordinary maintenance works of the Arena della Vittoria. The company geom. was awarded the interventions, necessary for obtaining the static suitability and energy efficiency certificates. Salvatore Capone Srl, for an amount of 447.258,17 euros.
“We continue with the maintenance of all the city's sports facilities which require some structural and plant interventions, in order to make them fully functional and accessible – comments Sports Councilor Pietro Petruzzelli -. The Arena della Vittoria, in addition to being a place particularly dear to all of us due to its history, is a structure with enormous potential that can be used not only for the practice of rugby and American football, as happens today, but also for many other sports disciplines and events".
This tranche of works, mainly relating to the renovation of the changing room block, involves the construction of a photovoltaic shelter for a power equal to 20 kWp, in the parking area near the changing rooms, the decommissioning of the old thermal power plant, the installation of a hydronic heat pump for the production of domestic hot water and for the thermo-refrigeration of the rooms and of cascade heat exchangers for the production instant domestic hot water connection hydronic terminals (fan coils) for thermorefrigeration of the changing rooms and service rooms to replace the existing radiators and the installation of a new network of radiators serving the bathrooms and showers. In addition to these interventions useful for the energy efficiency of the structure, some construction works are added such as: the waterproofing of the steps of the North and South curves and the Maratona grandstand with the restoration of the damaged structural elements, as well as works to adapt the existing electrical system in order to make it compatible with the new mechanical system for thermo-refrigeration and hot water production.
Specifically, these first interventions aim to update the static suitability certificate and energy efficiency of the system thanks to a renewable technology that performs the functions of air conditioning, heating and hot water production through the exploitation of heat unlimited accumulated in the air and then transformed into energy.
