Bari: Deputy Mayor Eugenio Di Sciascio in conversation with the German ambassador Hans-Dieter Lucas

Among the themes at the center of the visit, which allowed the ties between Bari and Germany to be further strengthened, were the potential and developments of some of the most important projects, illustrated to the ambassador by the deputy mayor, of redevelopment, urban regeneration and infrastructural improvement.

The deputy mayor Eugene DiSciascio received this morning, at Palazzo di Città, Hans-Dieter Lucas, ambassador to Italy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Accompanying the ambassador were the honorary consul of Germany in Bari Vincenzo Vito Chionna and Alexander Grossklags, from the German embassy in Italy. Culture councilor Ines Pierucci also participated in the meeting.

Between and topics at the center of the visit, which made it possible to further strengthen the ties between Bari and Germany, the potential and developments of some of the most important projects, illustrated to the ambassador by the deputy mayor, of redevelopment, urban regeneration and infrastructural improvement in which Bari is the protagonist , also thanks to the use of funds and opportunities offered by the Pnrr, including the Costa Sud park and the Bari-Naples high-speed railway line.

Furthermore, the deputy mayor and the ambassador underlined their mutual desire to continue working to further encourage the growth of trade and economic relations, in the name of sustainable development and starting from sectors such as renewable energy.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the ambassador, accompanied by councilor Pierucci, visited the Piccinni municipal theatre, where the German company Familie Flöz, an important reality of contemporary puppetry, is on stage these days, with its latest production from title “Hokuspokus”, created as part of the 2023/24 “Altri Mondi” theater season of the Municipality of Bari, organized in collaboration with the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese. During the visit to Piccinni, Councilor Pierucci also described to the Ambassador the work carried out in recent years for the reopening of important cultural spaces and to strengthen and diversify the cultural offer in the city of Bari.
