Ancona, “MUNICIPALITY” will be activeANCONAFREE”, a free wifi service in several points of the city

From February 1st COMMON will be activeANCONAFREE, a Free Wifi service also in our city. In this way the municipal administration starts a process of implementing access to the network for citizens, starting right from the heart of Ancona.

The Municipality has therefore created the coverage of some public areas with Wi-Fi connectivity to allow free access to the Internet by citizens and tourists. The connection allows the navigation for 2 hours per day.

"Administration - explains the councilor for IT services, Antonella Andreoli – wanted to build a first nucleus of wi-fi connectivity open and free to all, in the direction of a more modern and citizen-friendly city, implementing elements of growth and innovation. Just as we have already done with all those initiatives that aim to improve the relationship between citizens and technology, promoting better and easier access to the Municipality's services, such as for example registry services or for the acquisition of the Spid up to technological literacy courses with the digital compass, activated by the Marche Region. Meanwhile, the technicians are already working to expand the Wi-Fi network to other areas of our city, such as Viale della Vittoria, Piazza Diaz and the Passetto area".

Il servizio will be active 24 hours a day and authentication for access will be via social media (Instagram, Facebook) or via registration and token via SMS.

Once done access to the wi-fi network, the citizen will automatically connect for two hours, passing through the areas covered by the service.

The areas currently covered by the Wi-Fi signal are:

Largo 24 Maggio, Piazza Cavour, Piazza Pertini, Piazza Roma, Teatro Muse, Tredici Cannelle, Palazzo degli Anziani, Palazzo Malacari.
